Influence of nutritional factors on increasing the production of dairy cows, improving the quality of production and changing the cost (MITYBA)
BackPromote knowledge transfer and innovation in dairy farming, increase the viability and competitiveness of dairy farming in the regions, promote innovative farm technologies and sustainable development, and ensure animal welfare.
The aim of the activity is to provide farmers with innovative research-based technologies for grass management, feed preparation, animal feeding and their economic evaluation through production demonstration trials.
The novelty of the project is the use of a mobile laboratory to solve the influence of nutritional factors on increasing the production of dairy cows and improving the quality of production. It is a complex assessment of nutritional indicators, covering the chain of technological processes from the impact of fertilization on grassland productivity and nutritive value to the use of supplements for animal rations containing Omega-3 acids, assessing the impact of the technological process on animal productivity, milk quality and production cost reduction. The aim of the activity is to provide farmers with innovative research-based technologies for grassland management, feed preparation, animal feeding and their economic evaluation during production demonstration trials. Areas of trial investigations:
- fertilization, feed quality assessment;
- use of extruded flaxseed for feeding dairy cows.
This is the first demonstration trial project to bring together 5 target groups of farmers to share experiences. A mobile laboratory was used to perform specific services. The grass was examined on the farmers’ farms, its quality was assessed and it was recommended when to start mowing and preparing forage. The quality of forage already produced was also sampled and analysed on site.
