Prof. Habil. Dr. Audrius Sigitas Maruška, the Department of Biology, VMU.Developed the technology for the decontamination of used wooden railway sleepers by biological methods (REMTECH). An effective technology is found for the decontamination of pollutants on the sleepers. The sleepers are shredded by industrial grinders and a mushroom is sown on the resultant sawdust.

Prof. Dr. Gintautas Mažeikis, professor and the head of the Department of Philosophy and Social Critique.Professor is one of the most famous and interesting Lithuanian philosophers, a cultural theorist, an anthropologist. His research interests are the analysis of contemporary social and political theories, the postmodern political anthropology and research and analysis of propaganda and symbolic thinking. The professor has written monographies about Renaissance worldview and culture, philosophical anthropology, systems for the improvement of competency through cooperative studies, etc.

Professor Egidijus Šarauskis has 20 years of research and 12 years of organizational work experience.During this time period implemented over 30 scientific researches (projects), 9 of which led.
